Jeanneau has another small boat under ten metres hull length in its range. The first pictures of the test with the new Sun Odyssey 319

Some will recognise it at first glance. Jeanneau has taken over the moulds and rights from the yacht builders in Poland and is relaunching the boat with numerous revisions as the Sun Odyssey 319, the smallest boat in the touring series of the same name. The project was announced in the summer of this year and now the first boat in the series has arrived. YACHT has already sailed the smart all-rounder in western France. The comprehensive test report of the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 319 is planned for issue no. 1/2018, which will be published on Wednesday, 13 December. However, the first pictures from the test in France are already available here and in advance as a test gallery.

For the new edition, the former design by Andrzej Skrzat has been thoroughly reworked by the designers at Jeanneau. Essentially, the new hull now has chine edges and the deck has been completely rebuilt. However, the conceptual changes remain manageable compared to the Delphia ship. Above all, the cockpit layout with the central helm station and the long seat lines running through to the stern have remained the same. The Jeanneau boat can also be ordered with a fixed bowsprit on request. And the boat is now optionally available with a fixed keel or in a centreboard version. There are now always two rudder blades at the stern.

The French in Les Herbiers have worked hard on the styling so that the Sun Odyssey 319 is now clearly recognisable as a Jeanneau. In particular, the shape and length of the superstructure windows have been adapted to the design of the larger sisters. The layout of the interior has remained unchanged. In this boat size, the feasibility and variation options for the interior fittings are limited anyway, and the layout-defining floor group remains the same. On the other hand, considerable work has been done on the visual design below deck. Light-coloured woods and plenty of light now characterise the interior living ambience. This suits the small boat very well.

The Jeanneau Sun Odssey 319 will be launched on the market for a comparatively very competitive price of 85,200 euros (including sails and 19 per cent VAT). The boat will be on display at the boot trade fair in Düsseldorf in January.
